THE SUSTAINABLE LIVESTOCK

FARMING CONFERENCE

14th and 15th JUNE 2024

It is time to highlight that agriculture can be part of the solution to many of the environmental challenges the world is facing and to demonstrate to farmers and the wider community how changes to current farming practices can significantly improve the environmental and economic sustainability of farming businesses.

Here at Da Byw '24 we have a 3 pronged Mantra - PEOPLE, PROFIT, PLANET. It doesn't matter in which order these three appear. They are equally important and Farming Regeneratively addresses all three in equal measure. They are the 3 Ps that form the central discussions at Da Byw.

OUR AIMS

  1. To help Welsh Livestock farmers to move towards sustainable, low input farming practices. Reduce dependence on bought-in feed and fertilisers etc.
  2. To shed more light on how to build soil health and encourage the practice of Holistic Grazing
  3. To reduce the carbon footprint of our food, capture carbon and work towards zero emissions
  4. To reverse the trend of struggling rural communities. To encourage the rebirth of family farms
  5. To give the Policymakers the confidence to help Welsh Farmers to achieve all of the above
